Incident Involving a Tandem Paraglider – Ohrid

On 26 April 2026, a serious incident involving a tandem paraglider occurred during the landing phase in the vicinity of the Lake Police Station in Ohrid. The paraglider struck a street lighting pole while carrying one pilot and one passenger. No injuries were sustained, and no damage to the paraglider was reported. The occurrence is under investigation by the Aircraft Accident and Serious Incident Investigation Committee (KINSIV). The purpose of the investigation is to determine the causes and contributing factors of the occurrence and, where appropriate, to issue safety recommendations aimed at preventing similar events in the future.
